Lawrence ScottLovitta Foggo, JP, MP

Lovitta Foggo JP, MP was an educator and has served the Bermuda community in many diverse capacities over several decades. Ms. Foggo taught at St. George Secondary School, Whitney Institute, CedarBridge Academy, the Community School and the Prison Farm. She was a Biology teacher at the Berkeley Institute when she was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2007. Ms. Foggo has served as a Cabinet Minister under four portfolios, the most recent as Minster of Community Affairs and Sports. She is a former Chair of the Bermuda Airport Authority.

 

 

Ms. Foggo was a key force behind the building of the Lamb-Foggo Urgent Care Centre at Southside. She served on the St. George Parish Council as Chair of the Scholarship Sub-Committee and as Treasurer, and Deputy Chair of both CedarBridge Academy and the Education Appeals Board. She also served on the Child Care Placement Board and was the Chair of the Public Service Vehicles Licensing Board. She presently also chairs the Bermuda Land Development Company (BLDC).

 

In Parliament Ms. Foggo served on the Public Accounts Committee, the Private Bills Committee, the Audit Committee and the committee responsible for overseeing the Standing Orders and regulations for parliamentarians. She is a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association executive member of the Bermuda Branch. Ms. Foggo holds, a BSc degree in Biology and Education and a MSc degree in Public Administration and Development, now formally called Government and Society.
