Craig Bridgewater is Group Head of Finance for the Bank of N.T. Butterfield. Prior to joining the Bank in October 2019, he was a Partner with KPMG in Bermuda, where he was also Head of People with responsibility for Human Resources.

 

During his 18-year tenure with KPMG in Bermuda and Chicago, Mr. Bridgewater was engagement partner for many of the Firm’s clients in the banking, asset management, insurance-linked securities and local industries.

 

Prior to KPMG, Mr. Bridgewater was financial controller for Orbis Investment Management Limited and an Assistant Manager at Price Waterhouse in Bermuda.

 

Mr. Bridgewater attended the Berkeley Institute, and later Albert College and Carleton University in Canada. In addition to being a Chartered Public Accountant, he also qualified as a Certified Internal Auditor in 2001.

 

In 2019, Mr. Bridgewater was awarded the Fellowship designation by CPA Bermuda in recognition of his outstanding contributions made to the accounting profession and the community. Recently, he was inducted into the Company of Honary Fellows at the Bermuda College, recognised for honourable service in the cause of education.

 

Mr. Bridgewater has been recognised by Brothers of Bermuda for exemplary leadership in accounting and was selected for membership in the Young Presidents’ Organisation. He is the Chairman of the Governing Body of the Berkeley Institute, a member of the Board of Education, a member of the Albert College Board of Governors, Chair of its Finance Committee and the Frederick Sydney Smith Scholarship Committee, which issues scholarships to benefit Bermuda students attending Albert College.
