Mark Bourne, Director Air Navigation Services, has over 20 years' experience in airport operations, regulatory compliance, aviation safety and air traffic control services. He joined the Bermuda Airport Authority in April 2019 and is responsible for managing Air Traffic Control, Air Traffic Engineering and Airport Maintenance Services. Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Mr. Bourne was Contract Manager for CI2 Aviation Bermuda Ltd. at the LF Wade International Airport.
Mr. Bourne’s aviation career began in 1998 at the Bermuda Department of Airport Operations as an Air Operations Management Trainee. In 2001, he joined BAS-Serco Ltd. and obtained his Air Traffic Controller Licence and Aerodrome Control Rating at the Bermuda Air Traffic Control Tower. In 2008, he was appointed Air Traffic Control Services Manager and was certified as an Air Traffic Control On-the-Job Training Instructor and Examiner.
Mr. Bourne studied Aviation Management at Hampton University in Hampton Virginia, US and completed his Air Traffic Control Certification and Training at Shoreham College in the UK.
